Hockenhull Turkeys Ltd. was founded in 1954 by Hugh Arnold, who later co-established British United Turkeys (B.U.T.) Ltd. in 1962 alongside Rupert Chalmers Watson and John Lintern. Today, B.U.T. is part of Aviagen Turkeys Ltd. After lying dormant for over 40 years, Hockenhull Turkeys Ltd. re-entered the market in 2009 with Aviagen’s full support, becoming a leading producer and supplier of premium turkey poults for the UK’s Traditional Farm Fresh Market. The acquisition of Holly Berry Hatcheries in 2011 further strengthened the business, adding its renowned turkey breeds to the Hockenhull portfolio.

At the heart of Hockenhull Turkeys is a diverse range of pure turkey lines, some of which span over 60 generations. This remarkable heritage reflects the lifelong dedication of industry pioneers Hugh Arnold, Ken Clabburn, and Peter Thoms, ensuring the continuation of high-quality, traditional turkey breeding.
